The Facts on the Federal Energy Tax Credits
One of the provisions of The American Recovery & Reinvestment Act Of 2009 is an energy tax credit for qualified energy efficiency improvements in the taxpayer’s principal residence. It includes tax credits worth as much as $1,500 for consumers who upgrade their heating and air conditioning system and add energy saving improvements to their home such as insulation and air sealing. It’s a dollar for dollar tax credit equal to 30% of the investment, up to $1,500. The tax credit is limited to certain types of equipment and improvements, which Home Heating Service can help you select.

Colorado Governor's Energy Office Rebate
On April 19, 2010 the Colorado Governor's Energy Office (GEO) will offer home appliance, energy efficiency and renewable energy rebates, all to give Coloradans an unprecedented tool to save money and embrace Colorado's New Energy Efficient Economy. Keep in mind these rebates will be reserved online on a first-come, first-served basis though 2012 or untill funds are exhausted, so don't miss out on your money! The GEO will be offering the following rebates to you.

ENERGY STAR Water Heaters (Gas high performance and gas condensing) - $200

ENERGY STAR Tankless Water Heaters (Gas) - $300

ENERGY STAR Boilers (Gas) - $400

ENERGY STAR Furnaces (Gas condensing) - $500

Whole-house energy audit - tiered rebate of $25 to $100 depending on cost of audit

Insulation and air sealing measures - 20% of cost up to $400 (Will not exceed $600 if combined with an existing local utility rebate taken by the consumer)

Duct sealing - 20% of cost up to $75 (Will not exceed $125 if combined with an existing local utility rebate)

Solar domestic hot water- 30% of the cost
In Addition, Colorado Springs Utilities and Black Hills Energy are Offering Rebates as well!
Colorado Springs Utilities is offering a High-Effeciency Furnace rebate of $150 currently and anticipate a higher rebate available soon! They are also offering a rebate for adding insulation and air sealing!

Manufacturer's Rebates
Manufacturers are also offering rebates on the purchase of their equipment! These offers are all for a limited time, and are for qualifying systems only.
